Telephone Services


The University of Queensland's telephony network consists of approximately 12,000 fixed lines, including 380 cordless phones, 650 fax machines and an integrated cellular wireless solution of 180 phones. A centralised switchboard operator service is supplied at St Lucia.

In addition to general telephony, other services provided include Voicemail (7,500 users), Call Centre Technologies (90 agents), Switchboard Operations, University mobile services (1400 users), reconciliation of telephone users' accounts against the University's carrier bill, Consultation, Engineering Design and Project Management.

All related Telephony Services are provided to the UQ community on a cost recovery basis.
