Important: In order for spam filtering to function with Outlook 2003 either the Microsoft Office or Outlook service pack 2 MUST be installed.

Part 1 - Disabling Outlook's Junk Email Filtering

1)Click 'Tools'

2)Click 'Options'

3)Click [ Junk Email ]

4)Select No Automatic Filtering option as illustrated

5)Click [ OK ] to save settings.

6)Click [ OK ] to close options dialog.



Part 2 - Adding a Filter Rule

1)With the Outlook 2003 main screen open go to the 'Tools' menu, then select 'Rules and Alerts...' from the list (you may have to click the downward arrow to expand the menu)

2)Make sure you have your Exchange account selected (some users may have multiple email accounts)

3)Click the 'New Rule...' button

4)Select 'Start from a blank rule'

5)Make sure 'Check message when they arrive' is selected.

6)Press the [Next] button to continue

7)Put a tick in the 'With specific words in the message header' checkbox

8)Click on 'specific words' (the window where the arrow points to will appear)

9)Type in 'X-UQ-Spam-Score: *****' (Make sure that it is typed exactly as shown- there should be a space after the colon)

10)Press the [Add] button, once you have done this 'X-UQ-Spam-Score: *****' should appear in the 'Search List'

11)Press the [Next] button to continue

12)Put a tick in the 'move it to the specified folder'

13)Click on the 'Specified' link

14)Select the 'Junk E-mail' folder

15)Press the [OK] button

16)Click the [Finish] button to continue

17)Click the [OK] button to finish off the setup.
