UQ Calendar Handbook - User Guide
Introduction
UQ Calendar is an initiative of Information Technology Services to provide the University of Queensland with an effective web based calendar. At present there is no standard shared calendar within the University, and finding a suitable meeting time can be a time consuming and inefficient process. Whilst other calendar systems exist around campus (such as Exchange and Netscape Calendar), they do not address two important requirements:
UQ Calendar is a web-based solution. It is delivered via the Internet and viewed using a Web Browser. To launch the calendar go to: http://calendar.uq.edu.au You will need to login using your UQ user ID & password (also known as your Kerberos ID).Navigating the Calendar The first screen you will see after logging into UQ Calendar is your default calendar screen. At the top left of this screen are four tabs which provide access to a variety of UQ functions. ![]() Every task you perform in the calendar will occur in one of these tabs, so you will need to become familiar with the functions available in each screen. A brief summary of the tools available in each tab is included below - please click the tab icons for further details.
The 'View' Screen is displayed by default when you login into your calendar. It consists of your default calendar view, a mini month calendar, and a series of buttons that allow you to create events and tasks, and customise settings. Please click the 'View' icon for further details. |
